Erick Erickson: 'Trump Would Be Deeply Destructive Force'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Conservative author and talk show host Erick Erickson defended his plan to do anything necessary to stop Donald Trump from becoming President.

Erickson, during an interview with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, said nominating Trump is a very bad idea for the Republican party.

"I think Donald Trump would be a deeply destructive force if he were elected. I don't trust that he's anything other than an opportunist and I think that the Donald Trump we're seeing more and more is letting people surrender to their anger on issues, isn't an uplifting person and I also don't think that he can beat Hillary Clinton."

He stated that all options are on the table to be used to defeat Trump.

"At this point, I'm a Ted Cruz guy. The statement we released last week for this group, it was social and fiscal conservatives. We met in Washington. We think there needs to be a unity ticket. The party needs to rally to stop Donald Trump and that at the end said, we're very committed to stopping Trump, including all other options. That was read as third party and it eventually would if they don't stop Trump. You've got a lot of Christian evangelicals in the country that just don't trust him."
