McDonald House Employees Include Families of Hospitalized Children in Mega Millions Work Pool
CAMDEN, N.J., (CBS) -- The Mega Millions drawing is just hours away.
The jackpot is a staggering $636 million dollars.
Lots of us are dreaming big, including some employees of the Ronald McDonald House.
And they're proving they're not afraid to share if they strike it rich.
Cheering from excitement, these families are hoping to win millions.
"This is the most ever. How can you not be excited," Teddy Thomas, Ronald McDonald House Executive Director said.
Employees from the Ronald McDonald House bought 150 Mega Millions tickets and are including 22 families in their pool.
"We would all not come into work tomorrow, except we would have to for the families, so then we said we should include families," Thomas said.
Employees covered the cost, but if they win everyone would share the hundreds of millions of dollars.
"It's hard to comprehend millions, because I don't think anyone would even see a million in a lifetime," parent Kelli Stormes said.
And while none of us really understand what is like to win millions, families who rely on the Ronald McDonald House while their children get medical care say they already know where they'll use it.
"We have a mortgage, we have car payments, we're still paying our heat bill, our water bill, and to have to be here and take care of that -- to have the relief if we were to win, would be a relief in itself," Stormes said.
A relief and a dream for all these families who also want to do their share of giving.
"We would definitely give back. This house has done so much for us," parent Kim Barker said.
