Employees Compete At 30th Annual "SEPTA Roadeo"

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- SEPTA workers put their skills to the test at this year's annual "SEPTA Roadeo."
The 30th annual "SEPTA Roadeo" took place Saturday in the parking lot of the Cornswall Heights Regional Rail Station. Michael Liberi, Chief Officer of Surface Transportation, says it's a competition for operations and maintenance workers.
"There are a lot of obstacles," Liberi says, "and some of the greatest challenges they face are a left-hand reverse and a right-hand reverse, because it's not a normal move they would do a street."
He says the participants get one chance at the obstacles. Their scores are tallied and the top three winners are announced.
"And the First Place winner represents SEPTA at the 2015 International Roadeo," Liberi says, "which will be held in Houston, Texas."
Bus Operator Zenon Rinylo is a 21 time defending champion who won the International Roadeo twice. He says despite all of his success, this is not an easy competition.
"The funny thing is," Rinylo says, "when I first competed, I did so bad that I went home frustrated."
He says the key to his success is staying focused.
