Employee Pistol-Whipped During Attempted Robbery Of Rhawnhurst Business
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a tobacco store in Northeast Philadelphia.
The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. on May 23rd at the Tobacco Junction store located in the 8200 block of Bustleton Avenue.
Surveillance video from inside the store shows the two suspects casually entering the business. One of the suspects, who was armed with a gun, approached an employee and stated "don't push the button," referring to a panic button.

The employee then pressed a panic button she was wearing around her neck, at which time one of the suspects struck her in the head with a gun.
The suspects then ran out of the store without any cash.
The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30-years-old, with a heavy build. He was wearing a green camouflage jacket with a hood.
The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30-years-old, with a thin build. He was wearing black pants and a blue jacket.
