STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (CBS) -- An emotional day in State College wrapped up with Joe Paterno's funeral procession winding it's way through campus.
The blue hearse carrying Joe Paterno drove the coach past Beaver Stadium one last time, and through the campus of Penn State.
Paterno's widow Sue, his five children, and his 15 grandchildren followed aboard one the blue buses that carry players to home games here, with Sue sitting in the front seat where her husband traditionally sat for years.
In an incredible show of support, thousands lined the route.
"People were just waiting and waiting and as the bus got closer they were just crowding into the street and everyone was just very quiet though when it passed."
People say they were drawn here to show their love for the man they say helped define this university for over six decades, and to show their support for the family.
The three days of services will be capped off with the public memorial at the Bryce Jordan center.
