WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- A Delaware man is facing charges after investigators say he assaulted and robbed two elderly men outside a casino.
The first incident happened at about 1:15 p.m. on April 14th in the parking lot of the Delaware Park Racetrack and Casino in Wilmington. The second incident happened at about 8:45 p.m.
According to the Delaware State Police, a 79-year-old man was walking in the parking lot when he was approached from behind by an unknown male. Investigators said the suspect assaulted and knocked the victim to the ground. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim before running away. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
The second incident was very similar to the first attack. This time, a 68-year-old man was attacked and had his wallet stolen by the suspect. The suspect then ran away. The victim was taken to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say after an investigation, they were able to identify 22-year-old Charles Jones, of Newark, as the suspect. Jones was arrested at his home Wednesday without incident.
Jones is facing two counts of 1st Degree Robbery.
He is being held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution for lack of $120,000 cash bond.
