Elderly Couple Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide
LEVITTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- An elderly Levittown couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide. MIddletown Township police were called to the home Monday morning after the discovery by the couple's son and a neighbor.
John Hoez went to check on his parents and found the door locked. He and a neighbor broke down the door, and saw nothing amiss.
"They didn't really find them immediately, the son went outside to look around the house and found the parent's car, backed up to the side of the house, the opposite side of the house, with a hose coming from it and going into a window in the residence," said Middletown Township Police Detective Jeffrey Sproehnle.
Police believe Charles rigged the car tailpipe up to the house the day before.
Inside the house, the son and the neighbor found 92-year-old Charles and 90-year-old Jeanne Marie Hoez. Sproehnle says Jeanne Marie suffered from Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, and was incapacitated.
Police say the two most likely died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The bodies are now being examined by the Coroners office.
