Early Registration For 'The Zombie Run' Ends Sunday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two local college students are organizing a 5K Zombie Run set for Philadelphia in the spring and early registration ends tomorrow.
Penn sophomore Andrew Hudis, 19, is no stranger to organizing races, he helped start the Bucks County half-marathon. So, along with his friend, David Feinman, 20, of Temple, a new project came about: The Zombie Run on Sunday April 7th.
"You know, if you're chased by someone you run so much faster. We could all improve our race times if we were just chased all the time."
Hudis says you can register to be a zombie, doing the chasing, or a human.
"3.1 mile loop through FDR Park but we're hoping by the time we're done with it, it won't even be recognizable. We're really trying to make it into an apocalyptic playground right in the middle of Philadelphia."
There will even be make up artists on hand to transform people into zombies. This race is one of 16 Zombie races taking place across the country through the fall. Much of the proceeds go to Active Heroes, a non-profit benefiting military families.
Also, teams that register can select a charity and a percentage of their registration fees will go towards that charity.
