Early-Bird Shoppers Out In Full Force At Cherry Hill Mall
By Jenn Bernstein
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- Holiday shoppers were waiting when the Macy's at Cherry Hill Mall opened its doors at 7 a.m. Friday morning.
"I don't like the crowds, so this is perfect," said shopper David Rivkind.
The location is one of several to welcome customers early for the final shopping weekend before Christmas.
The store won't close again until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, which provides shoppers with more than 100 hours of shopping.
The National Retail Federation is predicting this final weekend before Christmas will be busier than ever.
It's been a tough holiday shopping season so far.
Several storms have kept many folks home, and the shopping season is six days shorter than last year.
Retailers are hoping folks show up to spend and shoppers are looking for some last-minute holiday deals. A seasonal trade-off that everyone can get behind.
The Kohls across the street from the Macy's in Cherry Hill opened at 6 a.m. Friday morning and will also stay open until Christmas Eve.
Certain Toys"R"Us locations will also offer customers extended hours.
