Eagles Wrap Up Mini-Camp
By Ed Benkin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles concluded a three-day session for rookies and first-year veterans. Head Coach Andy Reid said it was a great start for his newcomers. "It's a good foundation," he said. "It's a good introduction. We threw a lot at them and it looked like they digested it pretty well. Did we have to move guys around a little bit? Yeah. But this is a great introduction that these guys can build on."
Reid said he was impressed with second round pick Mychal Kendricks, who could find himself it a starting spot at linebacker this season.
Reid also updated the progress of Mike Patterson, who had brain surgery in the off-season. Reid said Patterson can't put a helmet on yet, but he is optimistic he'll be ready for training camp. Safety Colt Anderson also won't participate in off-season workouts as he recovers from a torn ACL, but he also hopes to be ready for Lehigh.
The full squad will workout next week and Reid will be happy to have everybody in town for workouts. "I look forward to that. It will be good to get the helmets on and the jerseys on, and that's a good thing. We can actually do some offense versus defense and get some work done there that we need to," he said.
