Eagles Will Be Without Allen, Mathis on Sunday
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 3-5 Eagles will host the 2-6 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Eagles' head coach Andy Reid says a couple of starters have been ruled out for this game. Safety Nate Allen (concussion) and guard Evan Mathis (toe) will both sit out.
Rookie Jaiquawn Jarrett is expected to get his first NFL start in place of Allen, and Reid says the short work week (Eagles lost to the Bears, 30-24, on Monday night) worked against Allen coming back.
"I think he will be alright this next week, but he's not ready yet," Reid said today.
King Dunlap will replace Mathis on the offensive line.
Dunlap has played tackle with the Eagles, but Reid isn't overly concerned about him sliding over.
"The offensive lineman, they are all familiar with him. He jumps in and he's OK there. Smart guy that has some game experience, playing experience, although it's not at that position. But it really doesn't matter," Reid said.
The Eagles and Cardinals kick off at 1:00pm on Sunday.
