Eagles Embrace Role Of 'Underdog' With Dog Masks
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Just about everybody loves an underdog and the Eagles are no different.
Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson and linebacker Chris Long wore dog masks off the field after Saturday night's 15-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Underdog Eagles Not Worried About The Oddsmakers
This started a run on the dog masks online.
"Once they said it was an underdog mask I thought that was awesome," said one Eagles fan.
Hours later, Amazon was selling them and one seller ran out of stock.
It was a similar story over at D&J Costumes And Entertainment on Frankford Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
"People have been walking in off the street and when we don't have it they turn around upset," owner Derek Lee told KYW Newsradio.
He said they did have some exact replicas of the dog masks, but they flew right off the shelves.
"We can't keep a dog in stock," he said. "Everybody is calling for the dogs, everybody wants one. Now we're accepting preorders for the dogs."
Which Lee says if you place by Wednesday, you'll have your mask by the weekend.
"It's hard to find," he added. "I mean, I'm a merchant and it's hard for me to find them."
Needless to say, the dog masks will be easy to spot at the NFC Championship game Sunday evening as the Eagles announced fans will be allowed to bring them to Lincoln Financial Field.
"It's kind of funny. I think it is great that the Eagles' fans will come out in that in the next games," said another Eagle fan.
Eagles Listed As Small Underdogs Vs. Falcons
"At this point in the season, it really doesn't matter. It's anybody's game. I'm just happy we won," said Lane Johnson.
