Eagles Trade Winston Justice, Re-Sign Antonio Dixon
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Having already announced an extension for defensive end Trent Cole, the Eagles made two more moves today; trading offensive tackle Winston Justice and re-signing defensive tackle Antonio Dixon.
The Eagles traded Winston Justice and a sixth round draft pick (17th), to the Indianapolis Colts for the Colts sixth round draft pick (2nd).
According to 94WIP's Reuben Frank, the move gives the Eagles more cap space. "Justice has $956,000 prorated in 2012 & 2013. That accelerates into $1.912 hit, saving Eagles $2.334 million in 2012 cap [$4.256m-$1.912m]," Frank said via Twitter.
The Eagles also re-signed Dixon to a one-year contract. Dixon was a restricted free agent, and has played in 35 games for the Eagles and started ten times in his three-year career with the team.
