Eagles To Add 1600 Seats, Rescale Some Ticket Prices
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – There may be a little more noise at Lincoln Financial Field during Eagles games next season.
The Eagles will add approximately 1600 new seats to Lincoln Financial Field prior to next season, as another part of the stadium's continuing upgrades and renovations. The team announced a $125 million renovation project in 2013, including HD video boards, free WiFi, 1,600 seats, historic team imagery, an expanded pro shop, expanded gates for easier entry and dismissal, a bridge in the upper and club levels to allow fans to walk around the entire stadium, concessions, Touchdown Club and suite revitalizations.
The major changes to the seating bowl will include new seating sections in the Northeast and Southwest corners of the stadium that will also connect the upper concourse.
Seats added to the lower bowl will have SBL's (Stadium Builders License).
"Over the years we have received a number of requests from our season ticket members to purchase seat licenses, relocate their seats, or purchase additional tickets," Eagles president Smolenski said. "By adding new seats to our stadium, there are opportunities to fulfill some of these requests. Our ticket office will be managing this process over the next few months and we will be fair and flexible throughout the process."
Along with the added seats, the team will rescale some ticket prices as well. Seats in the upper bowl will remain the same, and some seats in the lower levels will see an increase.
Approximately 52% of the tickets will increase in price, while 43% will stay the same and 5% will decrease. The previous stadium layout grouped tickets into five categories and the new layout will consist of eight.
"With seats being added and the structure of our seating bowl changing, we took a step back and reviewed how the building was priced," Smolenski said. "We decided to adjust the prices in certain sections to more accurately reflect their value and popularity compared to other sections around the stadium."
Upper level seats saw a $5 increase prior to the 2013 season, and lower level seats saw an increase of $10.
Lower level mid-field tickets will now be $130, lower level sideline tickets will be $115, lower level endzone and loge mid-field tickets will be $105, mid-level endzone tickets will be $95, upper level mid-field and loge corner and endzone tickets will be $85, and upper level tickets will be $75.
Prior to the most recent increases, the Eagles had the 11th most expensive season tickets in the NFL.
