Eagles Show Off Linc's New Amenities, Including Expanded Video

By Steve Tawa

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Today, with the start of Eagles' training camp, the team's front office led a media tour of Lincoln Financial Field, which has been on the receiving end of some nice upgrades.

Eagles' president Don Smolenski says they're wrapping up a two-year, $125-million renovation.  The amenities include new high-definition video boards in each end zone.

"It's going to be like what you experience at home: these are the highest resolution video boards in the National Football League," he said.  The new boards are made up of 10-millimeter pixels, which makes them more than twice as sharp as the Linc's previous boards.

The new tech touches also include LED ribbon-board displays along each side of the stadium, giving fans 360 degrees of video, animation, scores, and stats.

Eric Long, who runs the control room for each home game, says their new replay system is state-of-the-art.

"Previously we were able to take in four angles at any point in time.  Now we've got the ability to take in 19," he notes.

The stadium is also adding more than 1,600 seats, bringing the total to 69,176.
