Eagles Secondary Looks To Recover From Green Bay Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Halloween was last month, but there was plenty of scary videos at the Eagles practice facility.
Players had a chance to review the game film from their 53-20 loss in Green Bay. It was likely a difficult viewing for the secondary, which was scorched by Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, Cornerback Cary Williams insists it was business as usual.
"They were better than us that day," said Williams. "It wasn't hard to watch. You've got to have a positive perspective when you're looking at those things. You can't be in a negative mindset when you're looking at it. You've got to understand that there's room for improvement. Everybody has that opportunity."
The opportunity will come for the Eagles on Sunday when they host the Tennessee Titans. After going against one of the best quarterbacks in football last week in Aaron Rodgers, it will be an easier assignment for the secondary facing Titans rookie Zach Mettenberger. Eagles Defensive Coordinator Bill Davis says his unit learned from its mistakes in Green Bay.
"We learned a valuable lesson," Davis said. "I think we had a great session correcting all of the mistakes. We put the same face on and we corrected them and moved forward. If we had to play them again, hopefully, we'll be better next time around."
Malcolm Jenkins is a veteran who has experienced his share of ups and downs in the NFL. Jenkins took an approach similar to Williams and was able to put the Green Bay game in perspective.
"It's no different after a loss," said Jenkins. "You can't let your victory or failure from the previous week carry into the next week. Each week is different. Each week is a different opponent. This week, we've got the Tennessee Titans."
The question of whether the Eagles can forget about the Green Bay loss will be answered on Sunday. For Williams, it's all about the professional approach a cornerback must take each week in the NFL.
"I'm real with myself," Williams said. "In the National Football League, you've got to be real with yourself. You know when you haven't played well. You know when you didn't play your best. That was one of those games."
The Eagles placed Safety Earl Wolff (knee) on injured reserve and signed Cornerback Roc Carmichael.
