Eagles Rookies Adjusting To Fast Paced NFL During Camps
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Eagles three-day rookie camp continued at the Novacare Complex Saturday.
This is the first time Head Coach Chip Kelly can work with the new birds in the nest. There were 42 players on hand and the biggest thing is they have to adjust to is the fast paced practices.
"It was pretty fast paced today and I think that caught a lot people off guard," the Eagles first round selection, Offensive Tackle Lane Johnson, said.
The Eagles' second round pick, Tight End Zach Ertz, agrees:
"It's fast," Ertz said. "I mean, it is as advertised. At stanford, we hudled after every play and here, everything is fast. That's what I'm getting used to right now."
Former Eagles linebacker Chris Gocong is back participating alongside guys that were actually freshmen and sophomores in high school when he was drafted. He was not resigned by the Cleveland Browns after he tour his achilles which he says is fine:
"It's just one of those things, you know," Gocong said. "If you have a serious injury, teams want to see how you are and obviously, you know, I've shown that my ankle is doing well and I can play right now."
