Eagles Return to Practice With Bears in Sight
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a couple of days off, the Philadelphia Eagles returned to the practice field today as they get ready for Monday night's battle with the Chicago Bears.
One key member of the Eagles was not practicing today: running back LeSean McCoy was sent home from the practice facility because of a stomach flu.
McCoy is coming off a career-high 185-yard performance in Sunday night's win over Dallas (see related story). Tight end Brent Celek is a bit banged up, dealing with a hip contusion.
This is the fifth straight year these two teams will have met. The Bears have won three of the last four matchups, including a 31-26 decision last season at Soldier Field.
Eagles coach Andy Reid says they have to find a way to contain Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler.
"Jay's a tough nut. He can throw off of every different platform you can imagine, arm angle, body angle, and he can do it with accuracy," Reid said today. "And than he's a good athlete: he can also run very well and he has hurt us with that in the past. So we've got to make sure that we keep him within that pocket the best that we possibly can."
Cutler threw four touchdown passes in last year's Bears win over the Eagles.
Second-year defensive end Brandon Graham continues to work his way back from December knee surgery. Is he getting close to game ready?
"We'll just see how he does this week," Coach Reid says. "Literally now, we will see how he does today -- he'll have the pads on so that we'll get an opportunity to see how he feels."
Graham currently is on the "physically unable to perform list."
The Eagles and Bears kick off at 8:30pm Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field.
