Eagles Restructure Cullen Jenkins' Contract

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles have come to terms on a restructured contract for defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins, the team announced Tuesday via press release.
"We are very excited about having Cullen back on our football team," said general manager Howie Roseman. "Cullen made an immediate impact for us this year on and off the field. We look forward to a great future together with him in an Eagles uniform."
Jenkins said he was "relieved," that the deal got done. As for what to expect from the Eagles defense in 2012, Jenkins said "the biggest thing you can expect is a lot of hungry people, a lot of hungry players." He said the length of his contract is the same after the restructuring.
"I want to retire an Eagle," Jenkins said.
Jenkins, nicknamed "The Night Doctor," emerged as a team leader for the Eagles in just his first season with the team. He recorded 5.5 sacks for the team in 2011, his eighth season in the NFL. His seven previous seasons were spent with the Green Bay Packers.
