Eagles Release Jamaal Jackson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles have released center Jamaal Jackson, the team announced today.
Jackson, 31 years-old, was the longest tenured Eagles player, and the only one leftover from the Super Bowl team of 2004.
After winning the starting center job for good in 2005, Jackson kept it until he tore his ACL in a game against the Broncos during the 2009 season. Jackson returned back for camp in 2010, and was once again named the starter. He then tore his triceps muscle in the opening game of the 2010 season. Jackson returned in 2011, and lost the starting job to rookie Jason Kelce, whose style better fit Howard Mudd's system.
The Eagles will create about $1.5 million room under the salary cap by releasing Jackson.
