Eagles Ready To Face Down Chicago On Monday Night Football
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles have played much better football the last couple of games, winning two straight following that dreadful 1-4 start, to pull to within a game of .500.
Tonight, they will look to do something that has proven difficult for them the last several years: beat the Chicago Bears (see related story).
This is the fifth straight season that the Eagles and Bears have matched up in the regular season, and the Bears have come out on top three of the last four years, including a 31-26 decision last year in Chicago.
In that game, the Eagles couldn't stop Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler, who threw four touchdown passes. Running back Matt Forte also was big, with 139 yards of total offense.
This game will showcase two of the league's best running backs -- in Forte, and the Eagles' LeSean McCoy.
As great as McCoy has been for the Eagles, Forte may be playing even better for Chicago, having compiled 672 yards rushing on the ground and catching 38 passes for another 419 yards. He has three touchdowns on the season (2 rushing, 1 receiving).
McCoy has 738 yards rushing and 23 catches for an additional 138 yards, and he gets into the end zone. McCoy has scored a touchdown in every game this season, and he has ten scores total in 2011.
On the injury front, Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker is listed as "doubtful" with an ankle injury.
