PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- We have a quarterback controversy brewing. On Sunday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson benched Carson Wentz in the third quarter and brought in rookie Jalen Hurts, who gave the team a spark before ultimately losing to the Green Bay Packers.
Now, everyone is wondering who will start Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
It is literally a new benchmark for Wentz. The franchise quarterback found himself on the bench after another miserable start.
But 24 hours after the Eagles' loss in Green Bay, the question is, what's next?
Wentz continued to struggle like he has all season long. He was sacked four times Sunday and only completed 6 of his 15 throws.
By the third quarter, Pederson had seen enough. Hurts entered the game and the team had a little pep in their step. He threw a touchdown to Greg Ward on 4th and 18.
The Eagles host the Saints on Sunday, so who's the starter moving forward?
"I do feel like the longer you can kind of keep the opponent waiting on a dual-quarterback situation, it could possibly help a little bit, but we'll see how the week goes. And I'm kind of processing this right now and as soon as I make a decision I'll probably let you know sooner than later," Pederson said Monday.
