The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs next weekend at Lincoln Financial Field.

Here's everything you need to know before the matchup between the Eagles and Packers next weekend.

Which day will the Eagles-Packers play?

The Eagles will face the Packers on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 4:30 p.m.

The game will air on FOX.

NFL playoff games will also be played on Saturday and Monday during wild card weekend.

How did the Packers get here?

The Packers finished the regular season with an 11-6 record after losing to the Chicago Bears, 24-22, on a last-second field goal in Week 18. That loss made Green Bay No. 7 seed in the playoffs, while the Washington Commanders' win over the Dallas Cowboys made them the No. 6 seed.

Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love exited the loss in the second quarter with an elbow injury, and backup Malik Willis played the majority of the game.

Packers head coach Matt Lafleur told reporters Love was held out as a precaution and could've gone back in against the Bears. Love also told reporters that he feels good about his chance to play against the Eagles next weekend, but it'll be worth monitoring his injury status leading up to the game.

Green Bay is also dealing with other injuries to key players on its roster.

Christian Watson, one of the Packers' top wideouts, was ruled out against the Bears after suffering a knee injury. They're also without top cornerback Jaire Alexander for the remainder of the season.

On offense, the Packers are led by running back Josh Jacobs, who finished the regular season with 1,285 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns, including 14 rushing.

Eagles-Packers playoff history

This will be the fourth time the Eagles and Packers will face each other in the postseason.

The Eagles are 2-1 against the Packers in the playoffs, with the earliest matchup happening in the 1960 NFL Championship Game where the Birds took down Vince Lombardi's Packers, 17-13.

Philadelphia's other win happened in January 2004 in the infamous "4th and 26" game over Green Bay at the Linc. In that 20-17 overtime win, quarterback Donovan McNabb completed a 28-yard pass to wide receiver Freddie Mitchell late in the fourth quarter for a first down on 4th and 26 to keep the game alive. The drive ended with a David Akers field goal to send the game into the overtime.

In overtime, Akers won the game with a field goal after Brian Dawkins intercepted Brett Farve.

The Eagles' lone loss against the Packers in the playoffs happened in the wild card round of the playoffs in 2011. Former Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers beat the Birds, 21-16, on their way to winning the Super Bowl.

Will Jalen Hurts play against Packers?

Jalen Hurts was out for the Eagles' two final regular season games with a concussion, even though he wouldn't have played in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Giants because the team rested starters. He didn't participate in any practice last week as he remains in concussion protocol.

However, CBS Sports reported on Sunday that Hurts was present at Philadelphia's official walkthrough on Sunday, which means he's making progress in the league's five-step concussion protocol in order to return against the Packers.

With Hurts not playing Sunday and backup Kenny Pickett dealing with a rib injury, third-string quarterback Tanner McKee shined in his first career start. McKee completed 27 of his 41 passing attempts for 269 yards and two touchdowns in the win over New York.

Eagles beat Packers in season opener

The wild card matchup between the Eagles and Packers won't be the first time the two teams have met this season.

The Eagles defeated the Packers, 34-29, in the season opener in Brazil.

Saquon Barkley scored three total touchdowns in the win for the Eagles and rushed for 109 yards on 24 carries.

A.J. Brown also had a big day for the Eagles in the Week 1 win with five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.

Philadelphia police increasing patrols for Eagles-Packers

In the wake of the attack in New Orleans, Philadelphia police are now ramping up patrols ahead of the wild card game between the Eagles and Packers.

The attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans left 14 people dead and dozens more injured.

While there are no known threats in the city, police say having repeat fans come to most games makes it a lot easier for both police and civilians to notice if something is off.

"They would be in very much a good position to see things if they're a little bit different," Philadelphia police Inspector Jack Fleming said. "Happy to say we have officers at every major intersection and that we would certainly encourage them to go up to any officer and let them know if they see something different. Again, because they're down here so often, we definitely have repeat customers for the Eagles and we would act upon that immediately."
