Eagles Officially Place Franchise Tag On DeSean Jackson
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's official, the Eagles have placed the franchise tag on wide receiver DeSean Jackson. The team announced the move Thursday via press release.
"We want DeSean to be an Eagle for the long haul and this is a step in the right direction to accomplish that," said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman via the release. "DeSean is a talented player and a proven playmaker in this league and we look forward to him continuing his career in Philadelphia. It's our understanding that he has the same desire. We will continue our efforts on getting a long-term deal done with him."
There are still several scenarios available for the Eagles and Jackson, they are outlined here.
94WIP's Reuben Frank suggested last week that the team would sign Jackson to a long-term deal in the near future (see story).
Do you think they'll trade him, sign him long-term, or keep him for one year? Let us know in the comments.
