Eagles Fans Hyped Up For Home Opener
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The last six times the Eagles have played the Giants, the birds prevailed, and CBS 3 Eyewitness News reporter Jericka Duncan reports, Philly fans don't think today will be any different.
"We will crush the Giants. They will not even field a team."
Fans are expecting another win, another victory with the help of Michael Vick, who seems to have recovered from his concussion last week (see related story).
"I think we will take it, definitely. I can't not give any point, but hopefully Vick will be in for the whole game -- hopefully."
Vince Pacifico takes his tailgating seriously. He has quite an elaborate set up.
"We love this team and city. We make the most of every game day."
Reporter: "I see you have your couch, you have everything Eagles decked out, ready for the game."
Pacifico: "Yep, we have our television, we have all of our adult beverages, we have our sound system, we combine efforts and make the most of it."
KYW Newsradio's Cherri Gregg reports it's sensory overload outside Lincoln Financial Field, with thumping music, ribs and sausage cooking on the grill and a sea of green.
Frank Donato has been tailgating for more than thirty years. He says they started small with sodas and hoagies and now they have beef tenderloin, sweet sausage and $25 bottles of wine. Frank says the minimum yearly price tag is $10,000.
And that's not all. The trailers outside Lincoln Financial Field range in size from 15-50 feet. Some have sun decks, satellite dishes, wine coolers -- you name it, they have it.
"If you're gonna do it for the Eagles, do it big," Donato says.
