Eagles: DeSean Jackson Nursing Tender Foot After Sunday's Win
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The day after the Eagles' 17-10 win on the road against the Giants (see game story), head coach Andy Reid talked about the win -- and about team injuries.
Reid shed some light on why DeSean Jackson was wearing a walking boot after the game.
"DeSean Jackson has a foot contusion," Reid told reporters today. "He was stepped on about the third or fourth play of the game, and mentioned it at halftime. That's why he had the boot on after the game, when you saw him."
As for his status?
"It's sore today," Reid said of Jackson's foot. "It's not a Lisfranc (fracture) or one of those things. He got stepped on, it's tender. He came in early this morning and got treatment, so we'll see how he does."
Vince Young quarterbacked the Eagles to the win last night, throwing two touchdown passes in place of the injured Michael Vick. Reid said that Vick continues to make progress.
"Michael feels a little bit better with the ribs. But again, we will just take that day by day and see how he does. If he had to play today, he wouldn't be able to play today."
Reid added that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who didn't play against the Giants, continues to improve as he deals with shoulder and hamstring injuries. Reid said he was able to do some running this morning.
As for the win...
"In general, I just think that the attitude of the football team was good," Reid said. "I'm talking about coaches and players when I say the football team. The guys pulled it together in a tough place to play, and came out on top."
Next up for the 4-6 Eagles is the New England Patriots, Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. New England plays tonight, hosting Kansas City.
