Eagles Continue To Focus On Tennessee

By Ed Benkin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There will be no looking ahead at the Eagles complex this week.

The Eagles are used to taking the one-game-at-a-time approach throughout the season, and this week will be no different despite a showdown on the horizon with the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving.  After getting blown out in Green Bay, it is no surprise to see the Eagles locked into their Sunday contest with the Tennessee Titans at the Linc.  Chip Kelly has been pleased, but not surprised with the way his team has approached the work week.

"They understand it," said Kelly.  "Whether you win or lose the week before, your attention has to move onto your next opponent.  Those guys have been very good all year long.  They've been the same all year long whether it's a win or loss."

Even though the Titans are a non-conference opponent, there is plenty at stake on Sunday at the Linc.  The Eagles can ill-afford a loss with the likes of the Cowboys and Seahawks awaiting on their schedule,  LeSean McCoy said it is easy not to overlook anyone in the NFL.

"It's hard to win games in the league," McCoy said.  "From the great teams to the teams that are don't have winning records, it's hard to win.  We lost last week, but we've got to get back to it this week.  The attitude today is very positive."

Even with the Dallas game just over a week away, Jeremy Maclin says the Chip Kelly approach has served his players well over the past two seasons.

"That's one thing Chip does a good job of," said Maclin.  "We don't really look forward.  We know that we can't even get to there until we take care of business on Sunday.  We've got a group of guys coming in here that play very fast and play very hard.  It's going to be our job to take care of business."

It is even easier to understand why the Eagles are focused on the Titans when looking back at their game last week in Green Bay.  It is hard for the Eagles to look ahead to Dallas when redemption from last week is likely on their minds.  Linebacker Mychal Kendricks says there is still more work to do, but is eager to get to kickoff on Sunday.

"We're not going to rush this thing," Kendricks said.  "We're going to take it as it is.  Are we anxious to get there? Yes.  We're anxious to play, but we can't press the fast forward button.  If we could, I don't know if we should, because we still need a couple of days to get the overall schematics down."

Kelly also announced on Wednesday that Offensive Lineman Matt Tobin suffered a concussion at the end of last Sunday's game and is following the league protocol with concussion testing.
