Eagles: Coach Reid Pleased With Sunday's Win
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Eagles picked up a desperately needed win yesterday, holding off the Redskins on to the road and improving to 2-4 for the 2011 season (see game story).
Today, head coach Andy Reid reviewed the victory which snapped a four-game losing streak.
"A good team win against a good football team," Reid told reporters at a noontime press conference. "(Redskins head coach) Mike Shanahan has put together a good football team down there along with (Redskins GM) Bruce Allen. All in all, I was happy for the players and the coaches, I thought they did a very nice job of preparation and they showed a lot of emotion throughout the game, and then played good physical football, which I think is important."
The Eagles now go on the bye, and they could add a key piece after this break. Today, Reid said that defensive end Brandon Graham, who has yet to play this season after suffering a serious knee injury last year, "most likely" would start practicing with the team once they return from the bye, barring a setback.
Graham was the Eagles #1 draft pick in 2010, out of Michigan.
"He's worked so hard," Reid said of Graham. "You can't help but be pulling for him. He's spent so much time rehabbing and getting out there and running around doing the things that you do when you come off a tough surgery, so we will see how he does."
In other injury news, Reid says OT King Dunlap (back spasms) is "getting better." He also says that DE Trent Cole (calf) and OT Jason Peters (hamstring) are "making progress." None of those three played against the Redskins.
The Eagles' next game is Sunday night, October 30th, against the Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.
