EA Sports Puts NHL 94 Anniversary Mode In NHL '14
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As you get older, you get worse at video games. This is just a fact. I'm not sure if it's my decreased reaction time or the unfortunate fact that I don't get nearly as much time to play, but every time I play a game online against some 14 year-old I get crushed.
With this news, I might just have a chance.
EA Sports has announced that the newest version of their NHL series, NHL '14, will have an "NHL 94 Anniversary Mode" built in, to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the legendary game.
The NHL '94 Anniversary Mode will have the same music, players, and gameplay as the original version. One would imagine it will also have that go right, then left, then flip back toward the goal method of scoring that was pretty much indefensible as well.
I was great at this game. I was also a real jerk about it. I remember having friends over to play once, and I was beating them so bad I'd put my controller down and walk away for the final minute of the game. Come to think of it, maybe I deserve to have my butt kicked by 14 year-olds.
Just make sure to get Roenick, Fedorov, or Bure. And make Gretzky's head bleed.
