Dunphy Says GW Is 'Not An Easy Place To Play'
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Temple will look to make it two straight Atlantic 10 wins on Wednesday night when they visit George Washington.
The Owls improved to 11-4 overall, 1-1 in the conference, on Saturday when they beat the St. Louis Billikens, 64-54.
"We obviously needed the win very badly," Temple head coach Fran Dunphy tells KYW Newsradio. "They are a really solid defensive team and they do a really nice job on the offensive end, too. So just to come out with a victory was very important for us."
44 of Temple's 64 points in the win over St. Louis came from two players. Senior guard Khalif Wyatt had 24 and sophomore forward Anthony Lee poured in 20 to go along with a team high 10 rebounds.
"I think Anthony stepping up and doing what he did on the offensive end was very important for us," Dunphy says. "We have to be spreading our scoring around more than we have been."

George Washington is 7-8 on the season and 1-1 in the A-10. Last time out on Saturday, they lost at Xavier, 71-56.
"They are a very good defensive basketball team," Dunphy says. "It's not an easy place to play for us. They have good talent. I think (head coach) Mike (Lonergan)'s doing a terrific job of coaching them. As usual, we're going to have to be at our very best in order to win games."
Villanova transfer Isaiah Armwood is a player to watch for George Washington. The 6'9", senior forward leads the team in scoring (12.2 a game), rebounding (8.5 a game) and blocks (46).
Last season Temple beat GW at the Liacouras Center, 79-72.
The Owls and the Colonials will tip-off at 7:00pm on Wednesday night down in Washington, DC.
