Dunphy Knows Win Over VCU Doesn't Guarantee A Tournament Spot
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – When the Temple Owls defeated VCU on Sunday, they strengthened their case for an NCAA Tournament bid.
Fran Dunphy knows the case isn't closed ... yet.
"I don't know that we're in the tournament," the Temple head coach told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday. "I think that we have other work to do, that's how I will look at it. I think there are probably some others out there that are looking at it the same way. I'm not sure what the committee is thinking. I know we got either Massachusetts or GW on Friday and we better do a good job to cover ourselves."
Temple (23-8, 11/5) has a first round bye in their final Atlantic 10 tournament.

"I don't know how this committee is going to think or feel as they put this thing together? We've done a good job over the years of getting in, we haven't played our best when we're in, but we need to get in first before we can do anything about doing our work in the NCAA tournament," Dunphy said. "We're not in, as far as I'm concerned, and we've got things to do."
