DRPA Announces Changes To Traffic Patterns On Ben Franklin Bridge
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Delaware River Port Authority announced changes to PATCO's rail schedule and traffic patterns on the Ben Franklin Bridge.
PATCO's weekday service with no track outages will resume at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. However, the DRPA says single-track work will continue on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend trains will run every 30 minutes.
Streets that have been closed for the rehabilitation project will also reopen. Camden's North Third Street reopens on Tuesday night and in Philadelphia, North Marginal (New Street) will reopen by noon on Wednesday the 22nd.
Beginning on December 4, single track work will resume from Thursdays until Mondays. This will affect three of ten rush hour periods: Thursday afternoon and morning and afternoon rush hours on Friday.
Commuters are advised to visit the PATCO website for travel updates. Printed copies of the new schedule will be available at PATCO stations beginning on Wednesday.
The DRPA also says four lanes to Pennsylvania will be open during morning rush hours and four lanes to New Jersey will be open for the afternoon rush hour. Weekend lane closures will continue as needed and will be posted on www.drpa.org.
The DRPA says the PATCO Rail Rehabilitation Project is expected to be completed in early 2016.
