Driver Killed In Fiery Crash On The Roosevelt Boulevard

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A fiery one-car crash on the Roosevelt Boulevard Expressway claimed the life of a driver late Thursday night.
The accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Boulevard under the Broad Street overpass.
Investigators say the driver lost control while driving at a high rate of speed and crashed into a wall. The car then burst into flames, trapping the driver.
The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash and crews cleaned-up the scene. The road was fully reopened at about 3:30 a.m.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
