Driver Injured, Car Wrecked In Crash On Roosevelt Boulevard

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A driver escaped serious injury after crashing into a pole in Northeast Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
The accident happened at about 3:30 a.m. in the southbound outer lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard at Adams Avenue.
According to investigators, a driver of a BMW somehow lost control and slammed into a utility pole.
Emergency crews had to extricate the male driver out of the car and he was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
The car sustained extensive damage as a result of the crash.
Police are investigating if speed and the weather played a role in the crash. There were no other cars involved.
The incident remains under investigation.
