Driver Arrested After Striking Pedestrian In Port Richmond
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police arrested a driver after they say he struck a pedestrian and tried to flee the scene early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. at Cambria Street and Aramingo Avenue in Port Richmond.
According to investigators, a 69-year-old male was struck by a car as he was crossing the street. Police say the driver of the striking vehicle attempted to flee the scene, but was taken into custody a few blocks away.
The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital to be treated for a broken ankle.
The driver was taken into police custody. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
