Drexel University Student TV Sitcom Gets A Special Airing
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Drexel University's student produced TV sitcom gets a special airing on a Philadelphia commercial television station this weekend.
The TV series is called 'Off Campus,' a comedy about five recent grads that live in house and transition into life after college.
Twenty-five Drexel University students in the TV series production class work on the production all year.
Westphal College of Media Arts & Design TV Production & Media Management Program Director Prof. Andrew Susskind supervises the 'Off Campus' student crew.
He says the show has a professional actors but everything else is done by Drexel students.
"its written by, produced by, directed by, edited by, the students. The point of the course and the production is to give as closely as possible a professional prime time network production for our kids."
And now those kids from the TV series production class are going to add something else to their resumes.
CW Philly 57 will air the third and fourth episode of 'Off Campus' on Sunday, midnight to 1 am. It's the second time the CBS station gave the show exposure.
