Drexel University Student Arrested During Protests In Egypt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Drexel University student is among three American students who have been arrested during protests in Cairo.
Gregory Porter is accused of throwing Molotov cocktails during protests in Cairo's Tahrir Square. The 19-year-old Porter is from Glenside, Montgomery County.
Drexel University released the following statement regarding Porter's arrest:
"Drexel University has been notified that Gregory Porter, an undergraduate student majoring in international area studies, was one of three American students arrested during the recent protests in Cairo. Porter was studying abroad at the American University in Cairo while in Egypt. Drexel administrators are in contact with Porter's parents and are working with authorities at the American University in Cairo and the U.S. Embassy to have Porter released and returned home safely."
The protests began Saturday and demonstrators are demanding democratic rule and an end to the military regime.
The other two students are from Indiana and Georgetown Universities.
