Drexel Student Finds Unique Way To Make Friends At School
By Michelle Durham
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Drexel University student has found a unique way to break the ice at school - he offered to cut his fellow co-ed's hair!
Emmanuel Okyere hopes to one day open a business with his brothers, but for now the sophomore construction management major is enjoying classes and helping out classmates.
"We had a pair of clippers at my house so I started cutting my own hair. Then I started cutting my family members' hair. Then when I got to college, I went around and introduced myself to a few people and told them what I was trying to do. A lot of them actually came through and things just took off from there."
Emmanuel doesn't have a license so he can't charge for his services, but he says that's not the point.
"It's like a social gathering almost. We just share conversation, talk about what is going on at school or things like that as I cut hair."
But even the entrepreneur hopes to obtain that license and find an open chair in a nearby barbershop.
