Drexel Ranks High In Computer Games Program

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Drexel University has gotten a very good report card for its computer games program.
The latest issue of PC Gamer Magazine ranks Drexel as #6 for undergraduate and #3 for graduate instruction.
Professor Frank Lee, the co-founder and director of the gaming program, says some colleges come at the subject in computer class, a few from an entertainment perspective.
"Ours was fundamentally started as a joint effort between us, computer science, and the media program and I think it reflects in our ranking that they realize that games require cooperation."
Of course, part of the cirriculum is making a game, sometimes in as little as two weeks from concept to completion.
Professor Lee says, since graphics have gotten almost photo-realistic, he sees designers paying more attention to emotional content of games and improving Artificial Intelligence while the industry focuses more and more on mobile gaming platforms.
