Drexel Homestand Continues Thursday Against George Mason

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Drexel Dragons will play game three of a four-game homestand at the DAC on Thursday night when they welcome George Mason to town.
Drexel sits at 10-14 on the season after smothering James Madison on Sunday night, 60-48. The Dragons held the Dukes to just 12 points on five field goals in the first half of that one.
"We played well defensively," Drexel head coach Bruiser Flint tells KYW Newsradio. "Even going back and watching the tape, sometimes when a team scores (a low amount like) 12 points, you sometimes don't understand it until you go back and watch it and say, 'Well, they missed a bunch of open shots' or whatever. But I actually thought we did a good job of being on top of them and making them score points over top of us. I thought we did a great job of what we call our ball pressure."

Junior guard Frantz Massenat had 14 points in the JMU win, and that pushed him over the 1,000 point plateau for his career. He is the 33rd Dragon to reach that milestone.
"He's been a great kid, he's had a great career," Flint says. "I don't think he ever thought he would score 1,000 points in his junior year. He's going to be a kid who has a lot of records here. He's going to be in the top five, top ten in scoring. Going to probably be in the top five in assists. Hopefully, he'll be one of the winningest players to ever play here."
Thursday night will be Drexel's second meeting with the Patriots this season. The Dragons won the first back on January 31st down in Fairfax, Virginia, 58-54. Drexel dug themselves a big hole that night - trailing by 19 in the first-half - before rallying for the win.
"We turned the ball over a lot to start the game," Flint says. "They got some easy baskets. But we settled down, we were able to come back. Defensively, we played pretty well. We really rebounded the ball against them, but we can't let those guys disrupt us again by pressuring us, like we did in the first game."
Drexel's 6-6 Colonial Athletic Association record has them sitting seventh in the 11-team conference.
The Dragons and George Mason will tip-off at 7:00pm on Thursday night.
