Dr. Brian McDonough: Taking Utley Out Of The Game Was The Right Call
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phillies did the right thing last night taking Chase Utley out of the baseball game after he was hit in the head with a pitch.
The fact they took him out indicates that there was some concern, and the important thing is he was wearing a helmet which provided a degree of protection. But he was complaining of headaches and he looked a bit stunned after he was hit by the pitch.
The team doctors will evaluate him over the next few days to see if he has any symptoms or other issues associated with a concussion. They need to monitor and follow him closely.
