Police ID Victims In Deadly Olney Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police are investigating a double homicide in the Olney section of the city Monday night.
The shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Sparks Street while the victims were sitting on the porch, police said.
According to authorities, a 21-year-old man was shot in the head and chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 21-year-old woman was also shot once in the head and also in the chest and was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
Police have identified the victims as Rodney Ramseur and his girlfriend Latia Jones.
Police say the suspect fired at least six rounds.
"It appears that the shooter came right up on them and shot them," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Authorities say Ramseur and Jones were at Ramseur's house when the shooting occurred.
According to police, Ramseur's pregnant 18-year-old sister was inside the house at the time of the shooting. She was not injured during the shooting, but may have went into labor when she learned of the shooting. She was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment.
Police say the victims may have been targeted, but there is no word on a motive at this time.
Eyewitnesses described the suspect as a black male who, at the time of the shooting, was wearing a grey colored hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans. Police say he may have jumped into an older model Grey-colored Ford Taurus with a black hood and got away.
Police say detectives are now looking for surveillance video from neighboring businesses for some more clues.
