Dormitory Move-In Day for Temple's Freshman Class

Thousands of Temple University freshman are moving into their dorm rooms today and tomorrow.

KYW's John McDevitt reports from North Philadelphia that Temple's class of 2014 was moving into Johnson and Hardwick Halls, at Broad and Diamond Streets.

Among them was Courtney Burrell, of Baltimore (at left in photo), a new owl.  How was she trying to make her new nest feel more like home?

"A whole bunch of pictures and posters, things that I like, like football.  I got football player posters, stuff like that."

Other items being carted into the high-rise dorms included big-screen TVs, computers, and small fridges.  And comfort items.

(Student #2:)  "It's a pillow pet.  I have two -- a monkey and a giraffe."

(Student #3:)   "My comfort item?  Probably my Ipod."

Upperclassmen staying on campus move in on Thursday and Friday of this week.
