Dom Giordano Speaks With Former Ambassador To The United Nations About Israel's Peace Negotiations
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Dom Giordano talked to former Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, today on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT about the current geopolitical state of the of peace negotiations between Israel and its surrounding neighbors.

"The Israelis are in a very dangerous neighborhood and they have been since the state of Israel was created in 1948. This is not just a question of territory. This is a question of what kind of state is going to be on the other side of whatever border Israel agrees to. Just as the United States would be concerned if we had a terrorist state on our border, that's what Israel is concerned about. Not just from the potential threat of external aggression, but as bases for acts of terror from within Israel itself," Bolton said of the mindset Israel takes into negotiations.
He thinks the state of Israel is interested in reaching a settlement with the Palestinians, but will not accept an unsatisfactory deal for the sake of making a deal.
"Most Israelis would say very enthusiastically, they want peace as soon as they can get it. But the enemy has a vote too here. And the fact is after repeated efforts to reach an accommodation with the Palestinians, they don't really see any prospect of it, and I think they're right. There's no institution on the Palestinian side that can really make agreements and expect to live up to them in the years ahead. That's a pretty fundamental point that I think the Israeli's understand and that Obama and Kerry don't," he said.
Bolton also stated his belief that the Palestinians are being manipulated by other players in the region as a tool against Israel.
"Israel has tried repeatedly here. The enemies of the state have used the Palestinians here as the tip of the spear. They've been victimized, not really by Israel, but by other Arabs that have a different agenda," Bolton said.
