Dispute Over Vehicle Leads To Shots Fired, Drug Arrests

NEWARK, DE (CBS) -- A dispute over a vehicle led to shots fired and drug arrests just after midnight Monday.
Newark Police were responding to the unit block of North Street for reports of gunfire when they found 23-year-old William Hannah of New Castle, shirtless and bleeding. They determined his injuries were not from gunfire.
Allegedly, Hannah had just gotten into a fight with 22-year-old Cesar Carela at Carela's home nearby. According to police the pair were having a dispute over a vehicle sale when Hannah went to a parked car outside, retrieved a handgun and fired four shots toward the residence.
No one was hit by the gun shots.
Hannah was fleeing on foot when he was stopped by officers. He was arrested and charged with burglary in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm while under the influence, five counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated menacing. Hannah was committed to to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute in Wilmington in lieu of $39,250 secured bail. His handgun was never located.
Police also conducted a search of Carela's home and found a pound of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on a $3000 unsecured bond.
