Dinosaur Exhibit Unearthed At Academy of Natural Sciences
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A new interactive exhibit featuring life-size animatronic dinosaurs opens to the public on Saturday at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.
The exhibit is called "Dinosaurs Unearthed," and it features thirteen life-sized animatronic dinosaurs.
They roar, swing their tales, and even look like they're breathing as their rib cages expand and contract.
The Academy of Natural Sciences' exhibit director Jennifer Sontchi says the dinosaurs are scientifically accurate.
"They are stunning, and you might think you know what you are going to see, but these are state of the art," Sontchi said. "They are absolutely amazing. They're not your old animatronics from ten years ago. They really look like real animals."
A ticket to view the dinosaur exhibit carries a $5.00 upcharge from the Academy of Natural Sciences regular admission price.
The dinosaur exhibit opens to the public on Saturday, and it will remain there through March.
