Diner en Blanc Philadelphia Provides Backdrop For Marriage Proposal
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Diner en Blanc made its return to Philadelphia on Thursday night, this time at the steps of the Art Museum. Diners gathered, in all white attire, to enjoy the pop-up picnic.
The event is often a memorable one, for those that take part in it, and that was not true for anyone more than a couple who used the event to kick off the next phase of their relationship.
Andy Goodman of Warrington, Pa. was in town for Diner en Blanc. "I asked the love of my life to marry me," said Goodman. "I thought it was a great setting."
It was not the first time Goodman and his girlfriend, Katrina Panasiuk, attended the event. "We met two years ago and went through this and this was the right environment for us to make it work," he explained.
Goodman summed things up by saying that he felt good and felt blessed. "It's a perfect night."
The event marked Diner en Blanc's 5th anniversary, and a record 5,000 guests were expected, tying New York City as the largest in America. The Art Museum now hits the list of venues for Diner en Blanc which has included The Navy Yard, Avenue of the Arts, Logan Circle and JFK Bridge.
