Digital Art Contest Creates Canvas Out Of PECO Building's Lights
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Want to see your art on Philadelphia's PECO Building? Starting in September, you just might be able to.
Art in the Air, a digital art initiative that aims to showcase the work of area digital artists working with electronic media, is returning this fall. The initiative was created back in 2010 through a partnership between Breadboard—a cross-disciplinary art program at the University City Science Center—and PECO.
The in-air art exhibit, which requires digital artists to submit their work online and in accordance with several guidelines, will showcase the work of three chosen artists for two months every Friday evening. Past winners include UArts' James Simpson, an undergrad in the multimedia department, and Peter Eyrich, a senior at Drexel studying graphic design, as well as a few others.
Submissions for Art in the Air's September/October installation are due August 21, 2012.
