Developer Vying For Philadelphia Casino License Says Resort Would Create About 6,000 Jobs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Officials involved in casino mogul Steve Wynn's proposed resort along the Delaware River waterfront in Fishtown held a vendor outreach event Wednesday for those in the construction, supply and subcontracting fields.
Keating Consulting and the Minority Business Development Agency hosted representatives from more than 130 firms to network and get an idea on what a Wynn Philadelphia resort would mean for business.
"About 6,000 jobs; about 3,600 in construction and 2,200 or so in the permanent facility," says Daniel Keating III, whose company is serving as the project manager for Wynn.
"We have a publicly traded company that has board approval for a $900 million investment in the city of Philadelphia and it would be crazy for anyone who wants to be involved in the construction process, and ultimately the operation of the building, not to be here to listen," says Keating.
Wynn is one of six developers attempting to win a casino license.
