Delaware State Police Investigating Accident That Killed Pedestrian
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Thanksgiving.
The crash happened at 7:51 p.m. on Concord Pike (U.S. 202), north of Murphy Road.
According to police, Mary Jane Stebner, 37, of Townsend, was running eastbound from the median across the northbound lanes of Concord Pike when she was struck by a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 76-year-old Carl M. Golden.
The pedestrian, who was wearing dark colored clothing and crossed in an unlit area, was transported to Christiana Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Golden was not injured, and no charges have been filed.
